Being a leader of a sales team means that you have to adopt different leadership style to effectively manage your team. It is important for a leader to take the appropriate measures to ensure that the sales team achieves their target.

Instead of building a sales team, you will be creating duplicates of yourself.

See what they have in mind concerning an account, a customer or a situation. You should understand how your team want to have their problems solved and how they want you to help them.

Initially, your team members may be surprised by the way you are handling your management, and at first, they might not know how to act. This will most likely happen if your predecessor was a directive manager. However, keep encouraging them to feel free and come up with solutions to challenges they are facing. With time, you will not only see how they think and operate but also you will have helped them to develop problem-solving skills and this make them appreciate your work.
